Question Factory JBL Amp

Rob, I have 2 head units and 2 JBL amps for my car. I tried switching them around and found a working combo. But the fuse on the amp blew out after ten minutes and a second one blew right away. Have you figured out what causes the amp to blow fuses? Could it be the noise filter on the outside of the unit?

Use a voltmeter set on audible continuity and probe between the main power and ground to the amp, if there is continuity you have a bad power supply. Measure for continuity from any of the speaker leads to ground as well. A grounded out speaker can cause wierd things to happen with amps.

When you refer to the power supply, do you mean the black plastic box mounted on the outside of the amp?
